A ‘Woonerf’ or ‘Shared Space’ is an urban design concept aimed at slowing vehicular traffic and integrating the use of public spaces. Rather than the traditional segregation of motor vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians it is an aesthetically pleasing, integrated public space is created through the use of multi-coloured paving stones, curvilinear streets, the strategic placement of bollards and landscaping features.

With the development of The Granderson property the existing Granderson Avenue will be recreated as a Woonerf. This will provide a level of safety and quiet that will be appreciated by all the residents.
